Deep Level Caving Sessions at Clearwell Caves

Wednesday 24 October 2018

Why not take the children on a real adventure, or if you are an adult with a yearning for adventure and want to try caving, this is your chance. Go off the public pathways and experience the mine just as the miners left it, sometimes centuries ago.

Deep Level Caving (3 hrs)
These visits are more physically demanding than the semi-deep caving trips. You are taken down to around 200ft underground by an experienced and knowledgeable guide, which involves some crawling and scrambling. The workings are fascinating and you will see where iron ore and ochre has been mined for centuries.

Most abilities are suitable, as long as you can walk and crawl, please ask when booking.

All caving activities are suitable from 7 years upwards.

For all trips please wear old clothes (so you won't mind getting dirty) and either boots or wellies (with a good grip). Some wellies are available if you don't have your own. Helmets and caplamps plus overalls are supplied.

Be prepared to get dirty, to do some crawling, simple climbing and, oh yes, have some fun too!

These activities are good value and suitable for any reasonably able bodied person, with no prior experience of caving. Have a go.

All trips have a maximum of 15 persons, please pre-book to ensure a place. Under 16 years old, must be accompanied by a parent/responsible adult.
