Butterfly's magical re-telling of Shakespeare's classic comedy is full of fun, frolics and tonnes of laughs for people of all ages. This comical tale of how young lovers - thwarted by their parents - run away to the woods where they become unwittingly part of a plot by the magical creatures who inhabit the woods. Join the characters as they delve through the hidden dells as the wood is filled with magical music. You will walk along the paths following the action, whilst the story unfolds all around you.

Part of most schools’ curriculum, Butterfly offer a unique and enchanting version of this much-loved text, which “though truncated, remains faithful to the outlines of the play-text” (Shakespeare Magazine).

Butterfly never fail to delight their audiences; described by What’s On Stage as “Theatre for both aficionados and complete beginners…the venue for this production offers a whole new angle to theatre.”

Artistic Director, Aileen Gonsalves, explains, “Butterfly have a strong reputation for producing promenade performance in unique locations across the UK and Germany.
