REVIEW: Cinderella at The Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury
If you are anything like us, Christmas isn't Christmas until you have been to the panto.
Like the perfect Christmas pudding, Cinderella at The Roses contains all the right traditional ingredients; just the right dose of slapstick, a splash of well choreographed dancing, equal quantities of singing, cheering and boo-hissing... and a dollop of slime to boot. Women in knee-high boots, a comic Buttons, and a dame duo with enough saucy banter to carry us all through, the cast of Cinderella keeps the audience engaged throughout.
However, the perfect recipe must also contain that little something that leaves you guessing and keeps the magic alive, and, just when you've think you've seen it all, this pantomime delivers just that. With fabulous stage settings and slick comedy, this panto is a winner.
