Dust off your dancing shoes for the Heidi’s Heroes Spring Ball

Heidi's Heroes Spring Ball

Dust off your dancing shoes for a night of music, dinner and dance in support of Cheltenham charity Heidi’s Heroes.

The charity’s Spring Ball 2016 takes place on Saturday 23rd April at Cheltenham Park Hotel and is destined to be a real red carpet affair.

The Ball is held only once every two years and is one of the charity’s four main fundraisers of the year.

This year the charity has booked popular Gloucestershire band The Samanthas who will be performing classic hits from the 1960s through to present day with dancing set to continue until the small hours.
There are pre-dinner drinks, a three course meal and a charity raffle and auction with prizes worth hundreds of pounds including a stay at a Warwickshire inn, four ball golf at the Manor House Golf Club, Castle Combe, Wiltshire and a signed Gloucester Rugby shirt.

Paul Wood founded the charity after his wife Heidi, a former world championship swimmer, died of cancer aged 51 in 2012. The charity raises money for practical initiatives which support those with cancer; care for those coping with bereavement and give courage to children learning to swim.

The charity’s Honorary Trustee is former Olympic Gold Medallist Sharron Davies MBE, who was a friend of Heidi’s and trained and swam alongside her in the 1970s. It is hoped Sharron may also attend the Ball.

Paul Wood, Heidi’s Heroes founder, said: “Our 2014 Ball was the charity’s first. It was held in Gloucester and was very well-supported. This time we wanted it to be Cheltenham-based so have chosen a larger, hotel venue and have lined up some great live music.

“Guests can come as individuals, couples, or we have tables of ten for parties.
“We’ve some excellent raffle and auction prizes, but would love more! If there are any local businesses or companies willing to offer services, products or vouchers please get in touch asap.”

Tickets for the Ball are £40 and are available from Paul Wood on 07789 901058, from Ruth McDonagh on 0780 9096036 or by emailing info@heidisheroes.co.uk
