Only Fools And Boycie at The Roses Theatre

Only Fools And Boycie at The Roses Theatre

TV star John Challis is best known for his role as Boycie in BBC’s Only Fools And Horses – and in recent years he has returned to the screen to play Captain Peacock in BBC’s Are You Being Served and Monty in ITV’s smash hit comedy Benidorm. Now he plans to reveal the secrets of what goes on behind the scenes when he hits Tewkesbury with Only Fools And Boycie on Tuesday 20 September. Fans can look forward to an intimate evening during which Mr Challis will talk about his relationships with Only Fools stars David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst.

His audience will hear about his work in other TV shows, like Dr Who and Coronation Street, and Mr Challis will also reveal how he turned down The Beatles during the swinging sixties after they asked him to star in The Magical Mystery Tour. He will talk about his friendship with members of The Rolling Stones and reveal never-before-heard-tales from Only Fools And Horses.

Mr Challis says: “I’m really looking forward to visiting The Roses Theatre. It’s a beautiful venue and I can’t wait. Local fans have Tweeted me and told me they are looking forward to the show and it will be great to catch up with fans during a meet’n’greet after the gig. I’ll be signing autographs and posing for selfies.”

Mr Challis added that he was busier than ever and was presently on the road with a 30-date theatre tour.

Only Fools And Boycie has been a great hit and we’ve been working our way around England and Wales with a series of shows. Fans love shows like Only Fools And Horses, Dr Who, Coronation Street, Bendiorm and, of course the new-look Are You Being Served. They really enjoy finding out what happened once the cameras stopped running. This show gives them the chance to ask a few questions of their own and then to meet me afterwards. I’m looking forward to meeting local fans. It promises to be a great night.”

Tickets cost £17 and can be purchased from Box Office on 01684 295074 or online at www.rosestheatre.org.
