Celebrating Creativity of the Forest of Dean

Art exhibitions in the Forest of Dean

The Dean Heritage Centre (DHC) will once again showcase the work of local artists in their renowned annual community art exhibition.  The DHC is asking artists from the Forest of Dean to submit a piece for their annual community art exhibition.

The 2016 exhibition will run from Saturday 26th November until Sunday 8th January 2017. This event is the perfect opportunity and platform for local artists and creatives to exhibit work in a shared exhibition and reach new audiences.  The community art exhibition has been a launch pad for solo exhibitions at the Centre for both established exhibitors and aspiring artists. Could this exhibition be the rocket that launches your artistic talents out into the Dean and beyond?

Artwork in any medium will be considered, all work must be submitted mounted with mirror plates so it can be securely fitted to a wall.

To enter go to http://www.deanheritagecentre.com/museum/artgallery.htm to download more information and a short submission form.

Please return the completed form along with a jpeg of your proposed artwork via email to joanne@deanheritagecentre.com or post to Joanne Clarke, Dean Heritage Centre, Soudley, GLOS, GL14 2UB. The deadline for submission is Monday 14th November 2016

Following the closing date, Centre staff will select which artworks will be put on display and notify the artists who will be involved in the 2016 exhibition. Successful entrants will be required to deliver artwork to the Centre between Monday 21st November and Thursday 24th November or attend the Centre to install their work on Friday 25th November 2016.

Joanne Clarke, Education and Audience Engagement Officer:
“We are extremely pleased to be hosting the community art exhibition once again. We had some wonderful pieces entered last year and as previous years have proved, the creativity and talent in our local area is staggering so we are expecting more high quality and exciting work from artists across the community. The community art exhibition has seen many local artists who have submitted work go on to hold their own exhibition, and with over 20,000 visitors annually, the DHC is a perfect platform for all artists to show their work.”

Entry to view the exhibition is included in the Centre’s admission fee and more information can be found at www.deanheritagecentre.com.

Please note: Please do not send original artwork to us as submission, the DHC will not be held responsible for any artwork sent through the post. Reception staff will not receive original artwork for submission however hand delivered submission forms with a photograph in an envelope addressed For attention of Joanne Clarke are most welcome.
