Cirencester Corinium Museum this Christmas

Celebrate Christmas with a visit to the Corinium Museum in Cirencester for the family to meet Santa!

The Corinium Museum is thrilled to welcome Santa who will be reading some special stories written at his home in the North Pole. He will be at the museum for two sessions on Wednesday 21st December at 11.15am and 12pm. The cost per session is £2 per adult and £3.00 per child, which includes a present from Santa for each child to take home. The event is suitable for children of all ages.

A stunning exhibition by local artist Tony Meeuwissen takes place from 1st December – 8th January. Tony’s multi-award winning illustrations have adorned children’s books, Royal Mail stamps, playing cards and popular records. Come and purchase something unique for Christmas by one of the UK’s foremost illustrators.

Tim Porter will be bringing his expertise to the museum about the Music of Christmas from 2-4pm on Thursday 1st December. Hear an array of music written for the festive season from Bach to Mendelssohn and some lesser known composers. A time to reflect on the beauty and mystery of this time of year.

On Thursday 8th December at 7pm, the museum is hosting a vintage showing of Miracle on 34th Street. This seasonal film on the big screen will be sure to warm the spirits and celebrate the festive season.

This Christmas children are invited to pop along and create a stretchy reindeer to hang up in their home. Just drop in on Monday 19th December from 10-11am. If you would like to create something with a Roman influence, you can create a festive mosaic in time for Christmas on Tuesday 20th December.

Their winter programme is looking wonderfully vibrant so get out of the cold and enjoy some exciting events throughout December.
