The Big Garden Birdwatch at Birdland, Park & Gardens

The Big Garden Birdwatch at Birdland, Park & Gardens

Join in the Big Garden Birdwatch at Birdland from 28-30 January, 2017. Created by the RSPB the Big Garden Birdwatch helps the charity to build a picture of garden wildlife across the UK.

Last year, more than 519,000 people all over the UK counted an incredible 8,262,662 birds!

Join Head Keeper Alistair Keen as he heads to the Bird Hut in the Jurassic Journey and Nature Area to see which wild birds visit.
Alistair Keen says: “Last year at Birdland in our dedicated Nature Area I recorded 17 species in the hour, with the Willow Tit and Nuthatch the highlights. This winter has seen an eruption of Waxwings in the UK. Although we have yet to spot any in our Gloucestershire Park, this is my target species!”

Birdland is a member of the ESP, Endangered Species Programme, and strives to create and conserve natural habitats for wild birds within the 10 acre park, as well as working on breeding programmes and international conservation targets for the endangered avian species at Birdland.

Head to Birdland to learn all about the exciting birds that live there, join the Keeper Talks and watch the Penguin Feeding at 11am and 2.30pm.

Birdland is open daily from 10am
