A Lido 'Good Friday' - Cheltenham's outdoor swimming pools open date!

A Lido 'Good Friday' - Cheltenham's outdoor swimming pools open date!

It will be an extra special Good Friday this year in Cheltenham. Its outdoor heated swimming facility, Sandford Parks Lido will open its gates at 11am on Friday 14th April.

Following the success of the facilities longest ever season in 2016 the lido is pleased to offer another full six months of swimming operating until Friday 13th October.

The 83rd season will commence with the annual Turning Back Time day on Friday 14th April with an entrance price of only 2 pence (equivalent of the 1935 entrance price of sixpence) and staff dressed in traditional navy white uniforms.  As well as the first opportunity of the year to swim in the 50m heated main pool and children’s pools, there will also be musical entertainment throughout the day with a selection of bands playing music that spans the decades from blues and folk to rock and pop. Everyone is welcome from 11am until 7.30pm.

During our cold water swimming fortnight at the end of our 2016 season, we hired a sauna to provide our customers with an alternative experience; and following an expression of positive customer feedback, we are extremely pleased to announce that we have commissioned ‘Bathing Under The Skies’ to build our own sauna. This experience will be offered to our customers during the first month of our season as well as at the end; the sauna will be officially opened and be available for use from 1pm on our opening day.

Our excellent value for money Season Tickets will be available throughout the season and are now available with a 10% discount if purchased before Sunday 23rd April.  Details of this as well as some of the confirmed events and activities this year can be found on www.sandfordparkslido.org.uk
