The 2017 SBAT British Water Polo Championships at Sandford Parks Lido

The 2017 SBAT British Water Polo Championships at Sandford Parks Lido

On Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th May Cheltenham Parks Lido will host the British Water Polo Championships; sponsored by SBAT. It will be the first time in over 30 years that the  competition (which is basically the FA Cup of Water Polo!) will be held outside. The Lido are honoured to be hosting such a prestigious contest and their resident team Cheltenham are the current champions.

Water Polo is rich in the heritage of Sandford Parks Lido. The association goes right back to 1935 when the facility first opened. In 1950 the televised world final between England and Spain was held there.

The shallow end of the main pool will be open to the public whilst this event is in progress. However, there will be reduced 25 metre lane swimming. The Children’s pool will function as normal.

Spectators to the event are most welcome. Normal entry fees will apply.

Rookie Water Polo taster sessions for Children will be available on the Sunday morning between 9:30 – 11am.
