Cheltenham springs to life with street market

Cheltenham Street market

Great taste and sound experiences at Cheltenham Spring Street Market from 3 to 7 May 2018

Cheltenham comes alive this week with three fun and unique events: ‘Cheltenham Spring Street Market’, the ‘Cheltenham Jazz festival’ and ‘Cheltenham Jazz Around Town’ a new offering from Cheltenham BID.

Visitors to and residents of Cheltenham will be able to enjoy cutting-edge live entertainment, a varied selection of street food, crafts and gifts and have the chance to browse a large range of independent market stalls at the ‘Cheltenham Spring Street Market’.

The annual market runs for an extra day this year, taking in a fifth day on Bank Holiday Monday (7 May).

The market opens on Thursday 3 May on Cheltenham Promenade and is hosted by Geraud Street Markets, supported by Cheltenham Borough Council and Cheltenham Business Improvement District (BID).  Visitors to the market will be able to enjoy the sounds of several live acts, including a performance from Cheltenham’s Got 2 Sing choir on Sunday 6 May from 2pm.

There will also be a variety of street food vendors offering freshly cooked dishes from a range of cuisines and a speciality bar with a focus on craft ales, lager and ciders including gluten free, vegan and organic options.

BID Director Kevan Blackadder said: "We are pleased with the range of stall holders and entertainers coming to town for the market this year.

"Cheltenham already has a well-deserved reputation for being a great place to visit and shop, and the presence of this market not only widens the choice for visitors but really adds to the atmosphere of what should be a great weekend in the town centre with Cheltenham Jazz Festival’s Around Town programme in full flow with more than 70 Around Town events.”
