RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team joins the line up for Cotswold Show

Cotswold Show 2018

Plans are well underway for the Cotswold Show and Food Festival to be held in Cirencester Park on 7th and 8th July 2018 and today the Show organisers announced that the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team will be jumping into the Bathurst Arena on Sunday 8th July.

Widely recognised as the UK’s premier military parachute display team, the Falcons, based at RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, display at venues all over Britain and Europe and join us to commemorate the RAF’s 100th birthday.

The Royal Air Force is responsible for training and supporting all UK Airborne Forces. As well as providing a distinctive demonstration of freefall and canopy skills during the display season each Falcons Team member undertakes continual advanced training as Parachute Jumping Instructors in preparation for future employment in support of the Parachute Regiment, the Royal Marines and other specialist units.

The Falcons join other aerial displays including the Bremont Great War Display Team and the Poppy Parachute Team (jumping on Saturday 7th July). Slightly closer to the ground but still taking to the air on two wheels, the Savage Skills BMX Team are the UK’s leading freestyle mountain bike stunt team will be thrilling the crowds with breath-taking performances.

Originally founded as a showcase for countryside pursuits, Show visitors can expect to learn all about traditional rural skills through demonstrations and hands-on experiences. Have a go at shooting clays, archery and even ferret racing, and watch the experts at work in displays of falconry, saddlery, beekeeping, wood carving and more.

The Show’s original ethos “where town meets country” is still adhered to with masses to see and do for the whole family throughout the weekend including tree climbing and bungee trampolines, a traditional Punch and Judy Show, a working dog display, the Dog and Duck Show and the World of Dogs area.

The Food Festival element of the Show continues with the Cookery Theatre featuring chefs from Cotswolds hotels and restaurants alongside the ever-popular Food Hall.

Tickets for the Show are on sale via the website www.cotswoldshow.co.uk. Discounted tickets are available until Monday 2nd July at 11.59pm.
