Sited on the Cotswold Edge, between Stroud and Dursley, this beautiful grass airfield has been home to the Bristol and Gloucester Gliding Club (BGGC) since the 1950's.  The Bristol & Gloucestershire Gliding Club offers Trial Lessons for those who want to experience a flight in a modern, high performance, glider, and is open for membership for those who want to learn to fly or progress their existing skills.

The Bristol & Gloucestershire Gliding Club operate both aero-tow and winch launching and are able to fly (weather permitting) seven days a week, year round. From late spring to early autumn they offer a range of 5 day courses catering for beginners, improvers and advanced level tuition.

Bristol & Gloucestershire Gliding Club club operates with a mix of volunteers and professional staff and offers a friendly and inclusive environment to enjoy the sport of soaring. The membership ranges from teenagers to those enjoying an active retirement . It is possible to go "solo" in a glider from age 14 upwards and many people learn to glider in their 50's and 60's.

If you've not tried gliding the Bristol & Gloucestershire Gliding Club offer a range of trial lessons from a basic 2000ft aero-towed flight through to an unforgettable "Mile High" experience. Trial lesson vouchers are valid for 12 months and make a great gift. They can be purchased on online or by contacting the office (open Monday-Friday). There's also an on-site cafe, "The Old Flying CLub" which is open 7 days a week.

So come and soar high above the Gloucestershire countryside over the scenic Severn Valley. On a good day you can see across to the Welsh borders and Forest of Dean, up to the Malvern Hills in the north, down to the Bristol Channel in the south and get a great view of the Cotswolds stretching out beneath you.
