Summer 1954 at the Everyman Theatre Cheltenham

Monday 3 – Saturday 8 February 2025

Terence Rattigan's Table Number Seven and The Browning Version

In the summer of 1954, as Britain undergoes significant transformation, Table Number Seven and The Browning Version by Terence Rattigan make their debut at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham.

Set against the backdrop of The Beauregard Private Hotel in Bournemouth, the staff and guests wrestle with repressed emotions amid the sweeping social changes of post-war Britain. Concurrently, in the Midlands, the end of the school term brings upheaval to classicist Andrew Crocker Harris’s career and marriage.

This production marks the first time Rattigan's Table Number Seven and The Browning Version are paired, highlighting the playwright’s extraordinary ability to capture the essence of the human experience. Directed by James Dacre, the ensemble cast features Nathaniel Parker and Dame Siân Phillips, promising an engaging and emotionally resonant performance.

For those seeking what's on in Cheltenham, this theatrical offering is a perfect choice for a night out at the theatre, contributing to the vibrant Cheltenham events calendar. It is an excellent opportunity for audiences looking for things to do in Cheltenham, blending classic storytelling with contemporary significance.
