On 14 June The Lord Chamberlain’s Men perform Shakespeare’s most beautiful summer comedy, 'As You Like It’. This unforgettable production will have something for everyone. The BBC said of the Lord Chamberlain’s Men, ‘Open air theatre as it should be and at its very very best.’ The evening will be a brilliant introduction to the fun of the theatre for people of all ages. On 27th July we offer a unique musical treat with two concerts by Matthew Barley as a part of his ‘Around Britten’ tour. Matthew Barley has been described as ‘..probably the world’s most adventurous cellist’ Glascow Herald, his ’Around Britten’ CD as ‘A defining statement in modern cello playing.’ Sinfini.
The ‘Around Britten’ tour venues include cathedrals and symphony halls, yet Lodge Park is offering a unique opportunity for just sixty fortunate music lovers to hear the full concert in the intimacy of the Great Room and to meet and informally chat with Matthew over a drink after the performance.
