Get ready for Christmas at Beechenhurst in the Heart of the Forest
The Forestry Commission have joined with others at Beechenhurst, in the Forest of Dean, to help you get ready for Christmas and to start the celebrations and fun!
With Christmas trees on sale, wreath making workshops, a schools' Christmas Carol X mas Factor Competition, the annual Santa's Cycle, mulled wine and plenty of Festive food ....why not roll up for the next couple of weekends and join in the fun and get some of your Christmas presents sorted too!
A selection of beautiful FSc British grown Christmas trees will be on sale from Saturday 30th November - Gaveller's Café are giving all tree buyers a free tea or coffee with each purchase too!
Also on Saturday 30th November Cotswold Gardening School are running Christmas Wreath making workshops at Beechenhurst Lodge - there are two sessions. For adults only from 10am-12 noon workshop costs £35 and and a Family workshop from 2-4pm costs £45 for one adult wreath and one child's wreath. On Sunday 1st December we are starting the seasonal month off with a brand new event for the Forest - a school's Christmas Carol X mas Factor Competition!! From 1-4pm eight local schools will be battling it out to win the preciduous new position of winner of the X mas Factor, with our very own Forest of Dean local judges!! The winning school will recieve a Christmas Tree for their school hall.
The afternoon will be rounded off with seasonal music and the Gaveller's

The Christmas fun doesn't stop there - the next weekend Saturday 7th December is the annual Santa's Cycle in aid of Marie Curie care, following the Forestry Commission's 11km Family Cycle route. Starting with FREE registration between 9am and 10.30am at Beechenhurst Lodge the cyclists dressed as Father or Mother Christmas or little elves with their bikes decorated will set off at 10.45am. Minimum sponsorship support is £10. Half price bike hire avaiable but must be pre booked. Prizes for best decorated bike. To find out more and to register contact: Forest Adventure on 01594 821003.
