Live Lambing at Cotswold Farm Park

For many, seeing little bundles of wool leaping around in the countryside is one of the first signs of spring. So the good news is that warmer days and brighter evenings must be just around the corner!
Farmer and TV presenter Adam Henson, along with his team at the Cotswold Farm Park, are celebrating the start of the lambing season, with their first eager newborn entering the world ahead of schedule last Tuesday. The Farm Park re-opens to the public this Saturday, 10th February and over the next 9 weeks, the new Animal Barn will see the arrival of over 1,100 lambs, some of which will be rare breeds such as Cotswolds, Kerry Hills and Norfolk Horns.
The team are keeping a watchful eye over 510 pregnant commercial ewes and 144 pregnant rare breed ewes. They know roughly how many lambs each ewe is carrying as each of the girls is given an ultrasound scan at around 90 days into their pregnancy.
The Cotswold Farm Park re-opens Saturday 10 February, with lambing taking place daily until 15 April. Opening hours are 10.30am – 5.00pm. Bottle feeding takes place twice daily.
