Lechlade Festival all set for 2019

After a record-breaking 2018 event, Lechlade Festival organisers have announced tickets are already on sale for next year.
The late May bank holiday weekend saw bumper crowds at the family-friendly festival, with over 6000 people attending over three days. Headliners Scouting For Girls, From The Jam and Doctor and The Medics drew in the festival-goers, along with an unexpectedly sunny weekend.
“The forecast looked a little variable in the week leading up to the Festival,” said Festival founder and director Jennie Rainsford. “We were certainly blessed with the best of the weather.”
Tickets for 2019 are already on sale after demand for Very Early Bird tickets from festival-goers eager to return next year. “We are lucky to have a very loyal following,” said Jennie, “the audience were clamouring to get their tickets for next year booked in and of course the public is always right!” We have sold out of camping tickets and Campervan pitches for 2 years running, our regulars want to make sure they’ve guaranteed their place. We saw a lot of new attendees this year also keen to come back after enjoying such a fabulous weekend. We’re already looking at potential headliners and have a number of conversations ongoing with booking agents.”
Applications to be chosen to play at the festival open early July. The festival team sifted through over 1000 applications for this year’s event, narrowing it down to around 10%. “It’s really hard to make the final selections,” said Jennie, “the quality of acts applying rises every year and we’re expecting an increase in applications for 2019 as word gets around about Lechlade. We’ve received fantastic feedback from performers who really enjoy the experience and love reaching out to new audiences.”
Lechlade Festival returns over the bank holiday weekend from 24th-26th May 2019. Tickets are available online via the website at www.lechladefestival.co.uk (booking fees apply). Or from Lechlade Post Office (no booking fees). Locals benefit from significant discounts, information on eligible postcodes can be found on the website.
