Hot Air Ballooning at Sudeley Castle this weekend
Just a quick update on this weekend’s fabulous Ballooning Grand Prix at Sudeley Castle.
Two practice sessions have already taken place with USA Champion Nick Donner and reigning UK Champion Mike Howard taking to the Cotswold skies in readiness for tomorrow’s competition. The winner of the competition will be awarded the Sudeley Cup on Sunday afternoon, following which there will be a mass ascent from Sudeley around 7pm which promises to be a visual spectacular!
60 balloons have now registered for the event which has become the third largest balloon event to be held in the UK this year.
Competition flights will take place on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th June, with morning flights at 6am and from 6pm in the evening*.
As an additional attraction the Somerfield Balloon Parachute Team will be performing on Saturday evening. See the daredevil team jump from balloons into the grounds of Sudeley Castle.
Colourful tethered balloon displays, refreshments and all of Sudeley Castle’s regular attractions make this a thrilling event for the whole family. Craft stalls, local food and refreshments will be available on Saturday and Sunday from 10.30am to 7pm daily. Sudeley’s Cafe will be open as usual on Thursday and Friday.
