Adam Henson opens new event, 'The Enchanted Light Trail'
As lockdown measures eased this week and Gloucestershire entered Tier 2 restrictions, Cotswold Farm Park was among many businesses preparing to re-open it’s doors to the public. The award-winning local attraction, however, was also gearing up to finally launch its anticipated winter evening event, ‘The Enchanted Light Trail’. Originally scheduled to open to visitors last month, the illuminated trail is a joint venture with Tarren Production, based in Cheltenham. This is a brand-new event for the Farm Park, which is run by farmer and TV presenter Adam Henson.
‘Both the Farm Park team and everyone at Tarren have worked extremely hard to pull this together and it has all been a little nerve-racking!’ Adam said, ‘But despite the second lockdown throwing us a bit of a curveball, we’re so relieved to be able to open and to end this year on what will be a really magical note’.
Chris Tarren, founder of Tarren Production commented: ‘The Enchanted Light Trail is a brand-new light spectacular designed, created and produced by Tarren Production, hand in hand with the team at Cotswold Farm Park and takes its creative direction from the Cotswolds landscape and the farm land itself.’
The trail uses 96,000 lights (4000m of power cable!) to guide visitors around the site and through the Animal Barn, so that evening visitors can still experience the delights of getting up-close to some of the Farm Park’s most well-loved residents. Festive food and drinks are also available, along with crackling fire pits and needless to say, lots of photo opportunities.
Henson continued, ‘The Farm Park has been a huge part of my life since I was very, very little, so it’s actually been really exciting for me to see it so transformed by all the lights as well! It’s a beautiful site anyway, but none of us have ever seen it looking quite like this before.’
The evening event opened to its first visitors on Thursday 3rd December and reviews have already started appearing online, with one guest commenting ‘We had the most amazing evening tonight, thank you. So well organised, magical and family friendly’ and another raving; ‘Loved every minute of it’.
The Enchanted Light Trail is open until 3rd January, with some popular dates already sold out. There are staggered arrival time slots from 4.15 – 7.30pm. Online booking is essential at www.cotswoldfarmpark.co.uk/enchanted.
