Duck Detectives nature trail at WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre this Easter
WWT Slimbridge will be running a Duck Detectives nature trail for the Easter break, with events taking place from 1-16 April.
Families will be able to put their detective hats on as they follow a trail of clues around the wetlands to reveal nature’s hidden secrets and help find a missing bird.
These avian investigators will need to track down the missing bird by finding feathery clues and footprints and logging evidence in their Duck Detectives Case File.
Other family-friendly activities running between 1-16 April include seasonal crafts in the Art Hub, ‘Whose Poo?’ Show in the open-air Living Wetland Theatre, South Finger Guided Walk, uncovering a world of underwater life at Pond Dipping and stimulating the senses with Slimbridge’s interactive sandbox.
Slimbridge General Manager, Gary Haseley-Nejrup said:
“Easter is the perfect time to spot all the new life at our centres from budding trees to fluffy ducklings. Our detective trails will excite and inspire, helping everyone to feel closer to nature and to engage with the wonders of our wetlands.”
As well as the Duck Detectives nature trail and activities, families can hire a boat and adventure out on Slimbridge’s Canoe Safari and watch wildlife from the water, splash about in the updated Welly Boot Land or download the free, family-friendly app, Wetland Heroes - to discover more about their wonderful wetlands.
