Morning Yoga at Gloucester Cathedral >

Saturday, 6, 13, 20 July and 3, 10, 17, 24 August

Start your day with Morning Yoga in the breathtaking surroundings of Gloucester Cathedral. Join experienced practitioner Lucy and a small group of ticket holders for exclusive access to the Cathedral before it opens to the public. Sessions will take place in various stunning locations, including the Medieval Cloister and the serene Garth garden, where you can watch the sun rise over the tower.

 


Yoga for All Abilities >

Wednesday, 17 July & 21 August 2024

Designed for those with reduced mobility, this free yoga session is adaptable for everyone, whether you prefer to use a mat, sit in a chair, or stand. Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of Gloucester Cathedral as you practice.

Spend summer afternoons relaxing on the Cathedral Green with live acoustic music, delicious street food, and a peaceful ambiance. Enjoy the serene surroundings every Friday afternoon from 19 July to 30 August.

Become a champion by completing the Wellbeing Olympics Family Trail! This fun, Olympics-themed trail will take you through the Cathedral, offering a great way to explore and learn about this historic space. Collect your trail sheet from the Welcome Desk and embark on your adventure.


Movement and Family Yoga >

Thursday, 1 August 2024

Join in the family yoga sessions in the Chapter House, accompanied by activities such as brass rubbing, mindful drawing, and medieval games in the Cloister, Garth, and West Slype. This event is free and open to all.


Taizé Service >

2, 6, 16 & 20 August 2024

Nourish your spirit at a candlelit Taizé service, held around the Labyrinth. This simple, meditative worship includes repetitive holy chanting, designed to aid in meditation and prayer. Experience the Cathedral by candlelight and gain a glimpse of monastic life from 800 years ago.

 

Sound Bathing >

Friday, 2 & 16 August 2024

Experience the ancient practice of sound bathing in the magnificent Cathedral Nave. Lie down and relax as you are ‘bathed’ in sound waves, with a specially composed soundtrack featuring local sounds like the tolling bell and bird song. This session promotes mental wellbeing by encouraging relaxation and the release of stress and anxiety.

Walk the Labyrinth >

Friday 2 - Thursday 29 August 2024

Join a 1,000-year tradition by walking the Labyrinth at Gloucester Cathedral. This winding path, used for meditation and prayer, will be in the Nave for you to explore. Modelled after the Labyrinth at Chartres Cathedral, this symbolic journey represents the path to enlightenment or your deepest self.
