The Barn Theatre is thrilled to announce the celebrity line-up for its charity event, The Weakest Link with Anne Robinson, taking place on Saturday, 18 January. Chief Executive and Artistic Director Iwan Lewis, Executive Director Liam McMullan, and their team are proud to bring this exclusive event to the stage.
This unique evening will combine Anne Robinson’s legendary wit and sharp quips with a thrilling celebrity general knowledge showdown, all in support of the Hatherop Big Build campaign.
Celebrities braving the ‘Queen of Mean’ include:
- Michael Grade CBE, former BBC Chair and member of the House of Lords
- Kay Burley, one of Britain’s leading news presenters
- Nico De Boinville, Cheltenham Gold Cup-winning jockey
- Simon Heffer, historian, journalist, and columnist
- Stanley Johnson, former MEP and reality TV personality
- Tom Parker-Bowles, food critic and author
- Nick Peto, English aristocrat and friend of the Royals
- Toyah Wilcox, singer-songwriter, actress, and TV presenter
The event aims to raise vital funds for the Hatherop Big Build, a transformative campaign to support Hatherop Primary School. The initiative seeks £1.5 million to address overcrowding, replace outdated prefab classrooms, and create essential new spaces for pupils.
Anne Robinson commented: “Overcrowded classrooms. A prefab on its last legs. This isn’t just about questions and answers—it’s about building a brighter future for Hatherop Primary School. And trust me, the celebrities I’ll be putting in the spotlight will have to earn their keep!”
Hatherop Primary Headteacher Taryn Hancock shared: “Hatherop Primary’s buildings are no longer fit for purpose. With little funding available, it has fallen on our school and local community to raise the money needed. The support we’ve received so far has been astonishing, but we still have a long way to go. This event, hosted by the Barn Theatre and TV legend Anne Robinson, promises to be a fantastic occasion and a significant step towards achieving our goal.”
Barn Theatre CEO Iwan Lewis added: “Theatre is not just about entertainment—it’s about supporting our community. Hosting this incredible event for the Hatherop Big Build campaign and collaborating with Anne Robinson is an honour. Don’t miss this unique chance to see Anne at her sharpest, A-list stars at their most vulnerable, and a community coming together for an extraordinary cause!”
All proceeds from the event will directly support the Hatherop Big Build campaign, securing vital improvements for the school’s facilities.
