400 trees to be planted in Pittville Park to celebrate Queen’s Jubilee
Volunteers from Friends of Pittville and Cheltenham Borough Council's Community Rangers will be planting 400 trees in Pittville Park tomorrow (Thursday 16 February) at 9am.
The trees have been donated by the Woodland Trust as part of their Jubilee Woods Project. The trees are part of a council project to increase the biodiversity of the west side of the park and it is hoped that the trees will provide an array of flowers and colours in the park next year.
The Friends of Pittville meet every month to carry out a range of maintenance tasks within Pittville Park; these include replanting the flower beds the play area and pruning shrubs.

To celebrate the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth ll's historic 2012 Diamond Jubilee, the Woodland Trust is helping millions of people across the UK to come together to plant six million trees.
