Spice Lodge wins again - top award for Cheltenham restaurant
On Monday 26 November 2012 at The British Curry Awards, Cheltenham’s Spice Lodge was once again crowned the title of Best Curry House in the South West. This is the second consecutive year that the restaurant has won this much sought after and competitive award. With a few thousand Indian restaurants in the South West it’s quite an achievement to come in first and illustrates the quality of the cuisine.
Spice Lodge is the complete package for diners – the food is expertly prepared using traditional cooking techniques and recipes with some modern twists that are unique to the restaurant. The service strikes the perfect balance between being efficient and professional but still being very friendly and personal. Furthermore the restaurant is located in the old mansion house on Montpellier Drive – a beautiful Regency house with a décor to match.
This year’s award follows a number of other accolades over the years. These include Tilda Tiffin finalists in 2008/09/10 and British Curry Awards finalists in 2006 / 2007 as well as the winner of Best Curry House in the South West last year.
Mohammed Rahman, owner of the Spice Lodge says, “I’m very happy that we have once again been rewarded for all the hard work that we put in day in, day out to exceed customers’ expectations. Winning it last year, I think put the pressure on the team to maintain those high standards of food and service, and they have delivered yet again!”
